It all began with a mistake:a few years after the foundation of the Turkish Republic,the Turkish writer,Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı,published in a newspaper a story on deserters from the Army,for which he was exiled to Bodrum by a special military court.The judges,as well as Cevat Şakir,had no idea what Bodrum was like-except that traditionally it was an isolated little village known in the capital as a place for exile.The purgatory,which was to purge the writer of his unhealty mentality,turned out to be a paradise.He settled down in Bodrum for good and choose for himself the pen-name,”Fisherman of Halicarnassus”.

He made friends with the local fishermen and spong divers and got to know the various bays and coves in the Gulf of Gökova.Later on,a handful other intellectuals from İstanbul came to visit him and joined his trips.Together they constructed a theory of culture which embraced the cultures of all the people who had lived in Asia Minor.This was how the “Blue Voyage”,practiced nowedays by thousands of people,first originated.

The “Blue Voyage” is –first of all- a lovely escape from the drabness of daily life for a period.On the Blue Voyage one sails along the southwestern Turkish coastline,into solitary bays,crystal clear and virgin waters,picturesque small villages and places of antiquity.Whereever you come from and however ald you are,after a week or two at sea,you’ll become one heartwith the nature.Both flesh and spirit will be healty and happy.For the kind of Blue Voyage we offer,you don’t necessarily have to have a licence for sailing.We are providing you traditional wooden yachts,which youcan charter with crew.If you can not from a group of your own,you still have the chance to join our weekly tours with guaranteed departure.On your request,one of the skippers of our staff can assist you on the boat.

For families and for friends who wish to join up for a private cruise the chartering of the entire yacht,including crew is advantageous in every respect.                      

As a private party,you are free to charter the yacht of your choice for any agreed period of time and you may also destermine the route.You may provide the provisions or you can let Voyager do all the shopping saving you all that unnecessary hassle in the heat thus paying the daily rate for fullboard.There is no sailing ground more beautiful than the Turkish coast between Bodrum to the north-west of Marmaris and Antalya to the south-east.

We’ll provide only the basics of your voyage’s programme and you’ll be free to settle details together with the Captain during the cruise.He will be happy to comply with your wishes,weather permitting.Days on board are always eventful and may differ greatly from each other depending on what Mother Nature has to offer.Quiet little bays with crysatl clear water or a lusty wind,favourite for sailing,some ancient ruins beckoning on a hillside or a busy quaint little seaside town which you might like to visit.You can just let yourself drift along from day to day permitting the yacht to take the strain and enjoy the cruise in complete relaxation.

Cruises for singles or couples are great fun.They are designed for people who wish to make the holiday a totally new experience alongside new friends.Such cruises are often multi-national affairs,which make them especially interesting.

Generally,these boats have 6 cabins for 12 persons,but according to demand,boats with 4 cabins for up to 8 persons.The boat name will not be made available prior to the day of embarkation,as numbers will dictate which boat is best allocated.
