THE PEOPLE

In Turkey it is often very hot, so things happen  gradually until they reach a peak, before declining; whereas, in a cold weather country, everything happens with immediate fastness and ends in a flurry - and so the Turks react to this and in a sense, it becomes their tempo. The people of Istanbul are very beautiful. There is a gradation of everything - young children run through the streets and there are old people sitting around. There are many devout, married couples everywhere pushing baby-strollers (the woman usually wears a scarf over her head, which is itself quite attractive because it accentuates her face). People are at home in istanbul. Everywhere in the Summer, people are sitting on the grass in parks like nomads, under the shade of small trees, which is nice to see. They live in a very opened space here, in that while the streets may be narrow, the people do not feel inhibited to not sit outside. Its pleasant that people are living together in this small country. Most visitors to Istanbul have their own way of approving of its existence.
